Squid Acres Kennel offers a variety of dog mushing activities for a variety of experience levels. We have two locations to choose from. Most of our tours begin from our Cantwell location, on the picturesque Denali Highway. Our second location is at the Susitna Adventure Lodge, Mile Post 77 on the Denali Highway. Whether you are interested in a kennel visit to meet the dogs, going for your first dogsled ride, learning to run your own team, going on a guided multi-day adventureor interested in dog team support on your human powered expedition, Squid Acres has got you covered.

Summer Sled Dog Experience
Squid Acres offers summer dog mushing experiences at both our Cantwell location, near Denali National Park and at the Susitna Adventure Lodge at MP 77 on the scenic Denali Highway. Join Cody, Paige, and other awesome guides to learn about the amazing athletes of Squid Acres Kennel. You’ll get the chance to meet the dogs, one on one. Learn what it takes to train for and run the worlds toughest sled dogs races. Help hook up the team and go for a training run in a 5 passenger ATV.

Susitna Adventure Lodge
Day Mushing Experience
Join mushers Paige Drobny and Cody Strathe for a full summer day at the Susitna Adventure Lodge on the scenic Denali Highway. Meet the amazing sled dogs, and hook up a team to a 5 passenger ATV for a ride. Tour the surrounding wilderness. Hike with the huskies, go fishing, or paddle the alpine lake.
Susitna Lodge Overnight Mushing Experience
Go hiking with the amazing canine athletes who run the toughest dogsled races in the world. Enjoy an overnight stay at the Susitna Adventure Lodge, which you’ll have to yourself. Enjoy fishing, paddling or just relaxing. Hook up a team to a 5 passenger ATV for a ride Meals, lodging and guide provided.
Winter Dog Sled Rides and Day Trips
Join our experienced dog mushing guides one of our Winter Dog Sled Rides or Day Trips, or book a half day Mushing School experience and learn to drive your own team. Take an evening Aurora Sled Ride for a four hour tour to a remote camp. Sit around a cozy campfire with a hot beverage and watch for the northern lights.

Experience riding in a dog sled behind a team of huskies through the mountains near Denali. Your experienced guides will share their stories from the trail.

Maybe you’d prefer spending nights in the comfort of the Susitna Adventure Lodge, and days exploring trails by dog team and learning to drive your own sled.
